    Other than not having clean sheets it was fine.

    The only “ugh” was that the sheets were not changed from the previous person. Still crumpled under blanket.

    Location, size of the home and we had everything we needed

    It would be nice to have instructions on using the sauna - it didn’t seem to get hot and turned off on its own.

    Charming inconvenient location by the Russian river

    Great location right by the Russian river and nearby the beach. Property was spacious with lots of amenities in a very quiet, quaint location.

    The lighting in the dining room is very dark, making it hard to see well

    You hate to see it: Beautiful spot, but bad upkeep & rude support staff

    The house itself is beautiful. It’s fun and funky and romantic and I can tell the owner has put a lot of thought into making it pretty and comfortable.

    I don’t think the owner is there much and whoever is managing it is doing a very bad job. It was dirty, there was used linen piled up in the closet, and many of the amenities pictured were unavailable/not restocked/unusable. We were told to contact a local employee with any needs but he was dismissive and rude and offered no solutions. After I finally contacted through booking.com I received a passive aggressive text saying “sorry things are not exactly as pictured.” I do a lot of vacation rentals and my expectations are VERY reasonable — I know mistakes happen & it’s usually not a big deal to just get it handled and move on enjoyably. But when you are spending hundreds of dollars a night to stay somewhere, things like soiled linens and missing amenities should be addressed quickly and kindly. There is no reason to make a paying guest feel like they are a problem for requesting help.
