The Riad COULD be lovely. The staff were very friendly and as helpful as possible. But the road was very poorly managed and maintained. We had the security guard/gate person greet us/ show us our room as there were no reception staff or manager available. We had booked this hotel specifically for the large swimming pool but it was empty when we arrived and when we left looked like it wasn’t going to be filled for a long time as I was undergoing lengthy maintenance. I think we should have been advised of this, but were not. We were shown a much smaller pool in the Riad next door which we could use, but it was nothing like the pool shown in all the photos on Expedia. Also the foundation at the front was dry and dirty and looked like it had been like that for a long while. We ate dinner the first night of chicken but didn’t notice the chicken wings weren’t fully cooked until it was too late. ie our son had eaten them who then had diarrhoea the next day. The garden looked unkempt as did the facilities. For example there was a table tennis table but the bats were falling apart and the table tennis ball was broken. That was also a table football game but almost next to it there was the electricity fuse box open and free for any child to accidentally explore and touch. In our bathroom we found a live cockroach and in our sons bed (which wasn’t atoll close to the bathroom) what looked like cockroach shells/skin. I have photos of all of this and can share if useful.
