    Proximity to Tongariro River and trail was perfect. We were there at the perfect time to pick an abundance of blackberries. Too early in the season for any spawning trout but we tried anyway.

    Very nice place and was a great location for us to do the Tongariro crossing. Had pretty much everything we needed

    Didn't have a washing machine but had a dryer which I should have noticed in booking it But did get a laundry place recommended which was great. The address wasn't exactly correct on booking.com. It's given as 3334 when its just number 31

    We stayed 5 nights at River Trail Retreat. It could be a great place if a little care was given to it from cleaning EVER

    Quaint and quiet. Location along the river track was nice.

    Monster cockroaches, dirty dishes, dirty table, took forever to figure out the hot water supply was turned off. Just over all scruffy and uncared for.
