  Un’esperienza da INCUBO

  Gli unici a salvarsi sono i membri dello staff i quali cercano di fare il possibile in una situazione alquanto disagevole, e i cuochi, la cucina infatti è molto buona. La posizione non e’ male.

  Da dove iniziare… La struttura e’ ben diversa da come si evince dalle foto, le stanze sono sporche, piene di insetti e il bagno emana un odore davvero vomitevole! Ci sono formiche che proliferano ovunque, l’elettricità non regge, nel corso della notte e’ saltata 3 volte la corrente e ogni volta si è accesa una luce di emergenza che sembrava un faro, il che non ci ha permesso di chiudere occhio. Da considerare il fatto che noi avevamo la stanza migliore, non oso immaginare come sarebbe andata in altre stanze! Quando abbiamo fatto notare i vari disagi al proprietario ci e’ stato risposto in maniera infastidita e inopportuna che le persone che vivono nei paraggi non hanno nulla e noi ci lamentiamo per queste sciocchezze! Riteniamo che sia una persona inadatta a gestire un dibattito in maniera civile, una figura negativa in mezzo a una popolazione che, a differenza sua, è estremamente accogliente e gentile. I prezzi sono decisamente sproporzionati per il valore del soggiorno.

  Idyllisch, naturnah

  Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig und idyllisch, die Unterkunft liegt direkt am Fluss. Der Gastgeber Jaya ist sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns ausführliche Informationen zu Wanderungen und Aktivitäten in der Umgebung gegeben. Auch seine Angestellten sind sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir haben in der Standard Villa gewohnt, diese hat einen separaten Zugang. Von der Terrasse aus blickt man auf den Fluss, in dem man auch baden kann. Der Bus hält an der Unterkunft und man kann von hier aus auch alleine verschiedene Wanderungen starten.

  During my stay, the hotel was undergoing renovations, and I'm sure it will look beautiful once completed. The host is a kind and generous gentleman who truly cares about his guests. The caretaker lady is also very attentive and serves with genuine care. It’s a pleasant place located by the river, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim for fun.

  For improvement, I suggest adding a cable TV, a mini fridge, and some tea/coffee-making facilities.

  Knuckles mountain range hiking

  Divya, who maintains the villa, was a pleasant lady. Delicious food she prepared. The price for the food is ok. It is a pleasant environment.Easyacess. There are few public transport in the morning you can use to go to reveston Tower, Pitawala pathana and Manigala. you have to wait till the same bus return in the evening.

  The price of the room is a little high. Basic toiletries were not provided.Little reluctant to accommodate the booking of who is living in Srilanka.

  A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Knuckles – Perfect for Nature Lovers!

  Our stay at this charming cottage nestled deep in the Knuckles jungle was nothing short of magical. The peaceful setting, surrounded by lush greenery, offered the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. A beautiful mountain river, Nikal Oya, runs along the edge of the property—its crystal-clear, ice-cold waters are ideal for a refreshing dip. We learned from the friendly owner that this is the highest altitude in the river suitable for bathing, which made the experience even more special. The hospitality was exceptional. The caretaker, Diviya, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. She personally guided us to a hidden mountain temple and the stunning Bambarakiri Ella waterfall, leading us through picturesque paddy fields along the way. Riverston Peak is just 9 km from the cottage, and watching the sunset from the mountain was absolutely breathtaking. If you’re looking to unwind, reconnect with nature, and explore some of Sri Lanka’s lesser-known natural wonders, this is the place for you. Public transport is also available nearby, which is a bonus for travelers without a car. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Riverston area!
