Although it’s a little far from the city centre, it’s very well located for public transport, restaurants and other amenities. The room looks exactly like the photos, and Andrea was always very responsive, helpful and happy to provide recommendations. It’s a beautiful neighbourhood in Rome, away from the typical tourist areas in the city centre.
There was only one pillow per person, which I found a bit unusual, as most accommodation provides two or three. However, the main reason I’m deducting points is something I genuinely cannot understand. This is my third time in Rome, I’ve been travelling exclusively around Italy on this trip, and this is my 16th accommodation so far. Yet, this is the first time I’ve ever been told that “cooking or preparing food is prohibited by law and subject to a fine.” I actually looked into Italian regulations myself and couldn’t find anything supporting this claim. Every morning, I prepare oatmeal with a supplement that I need to take daily for health reasons. Because of this restriction, I had to go to a nearby café and pay someone to prepare it for me, as it’s an essential part of my daily routine. What makes this even more frustrating is that the listing showed a fully equipped kitchen, including a stovetop, so I naturally assumed guests would be allowed to use it. However, one of the first things I was told was that preparing food was prohibited by law. This is the only accommodation where I’ve experienced anything like this, and I believe the listing should clearly state that guests are not allowed to cook or prepare food, especially when a fully equipped kitchen is advertised.
