For the price, great
I'll start with the positives. Maybe this is common around this area, but I was shocked by how inexpensive this was, for a proper non-shared hotel-like room too. I was convinced it was a scam and that I was going to turn up, and it wouldn't be as described, but I was pleasantly surprised. The location was also nice and relatively quiet The guys were honestly really lovely, and every time I needed to speak to them, they were there to receive me, I definitely can't take points off for that. There was also free soap+towels+tea/coffee, which may be standard in some places, but I really appreciated it and needed it this time, and they also do breakfast for £5 which is awesome. The breakfast was amazing too, it was more home-like in the sense where you could ask them for things and they would make them for you, but there was also stuff like jams and cereal out. They did it really quickly and then when I went to pay, they waved the price?? That was so sweet of them! Overall, very pleasant and friendly people. Overall honesty it was very good for £35 and I've stayed in much worse places for considerably more, I bring up negatives, but I can't complain too much considering it all.
On to the negatives, unfortunately while I was there the smoke detector was low battery, and I didn't sleep well because the beeps were keeping me up. The guy I spoke to was informed of this, but to be fair, I didn't give him a lot of time to deal with it. Luckily, I had earplugs, but then that meant I couldn't sleep because for the extra reason that I was scared, I was going to miss my alarm. There was also this huge crack under my door that was really obvious at night, it was positioned so that anyone could have layed on the floor and watched me sleep though it, it was just a bit uncomfortable. There was also other people's stuff in the bin, a slight smell in the air, and the sink was blocked enough that it was annoying, but these all feel like nitpicks. I wanted to mention them, though, to be fully truthful about my stay. The building I stayed in was structured like and felt like a home - whether that is a good or bad thing is up to you. Either way I accidentally locked myself out prematurely, but that's entirely on me lmao
