Beautiful place & people
This was such an incredible stay! Now I know that whenever I’m staying in Healesville, I’ll be choosing here again every time. The owners, Bronnie and Neil, were so kind and accommodating. I felt right at home chatting with them and asking for recommendations on the area, where to go and which vineyards are actually worth visiting. The room was spacious, and the mountain view was stunning. I’d definitely recommend spending that little bit extra for a room with a view if you can. I was shown how to use all the amenities, and spending the evening relaxing in the jacuzzi and sauna after a long day walking in the sun was everything I could’ve ever wanted. There's also pretty much everything you need in a kitchen, from bacon & eggs or yoghurt for food to ice trays pre filled for drinks and a coffee machine for a hot cup whenever you feel the need. It’s also perfect for any animal lovers; a family of ducks greeted us when we arrived, and the sounds of native birds filled the trees. The owners’ dog, Archie, was always a delight to see when he was around, helping ease my homesickness for my own dog. And the cat who shares the same name as me (Rosie) was just the icing on the cake! The location is a great balance of being within walking distance of town while still being far enough out in the country that you feel connected to the surrounding nature. There’s even a lovely Thai restaurant just past the driveway that serves tasty dine-in or takeaway food if you don’t want to walk the 15-ish minutes into town. If you’re making the trip without a car (like my partner and I), definitely ask about the shortcut to town! It’s a beautiful route for spotting native Australian wildlife and saves you from having to walk up a steep hill. Bronnie even kindly offered to drive us to the nearby sanctuary (our last stop on the trip) after seeing our luggage and hearing about our public transport plans.
