Enjoyed the comfort, space and privacy of Royal Kamuela and the lovely staff.
Loved this property. We booked a private pool villa and it was really lovely. The pool was huge and the villa was spacious, clean and really comfortable. The staff are exceptional, especially Arta, Panji and Icha. Location is close to Monkey Forrest so there are monkeys on the property but they don’t bother you. Really good value for money. Will definitely be coming back. My wife had massage and facial with Nita and said she was wonderful. Just book it, you won’t be disappointed.

The staff were genuinely wonderful — warm, friendly, courteous and always accommodating. Their hospitality was certainly one of the highlights of our stay. The property’s location in central Ubud was also very convenient.
Despite requesting a good room in advance for our special occasion, we were allocated a suite with very limited privacy. Our balcony faced the restaurant’s outdoor seating area, meaning guests dining there could look towards our room. Consequently, we had to keep the curtains closed for much of our stay, which detracted from the comfort and enjoyment of the room. To their credit, the management acknowledged our disappointment and offered a complimentary couples’ spa treatment as a goodwill gesture, which we appreciated. However, this did not resolve the fundamental issue with the room’s privacy. Another disappointing experience occurred during checkout, when we were presented with minibar charges despite not having consumed anything from the minibar. When we challenged the charges, the staff removed them immediately and without resistance. While we appreciated the prompt correction, such incorrect charges are concerning in a 5* hotel, particularly as we could easily have paid them had we not carefully checked the bill.
