A bad ending to a wonderful vacation. Felt harassed and hostage of their own agenda
We had a very disappointing experience at the Royal Luxury Rum from our arrival till the end. We booked hoping to stay at the bubbles. As we arrived, very tired from a fully day in Petra, we were brought into a room and offered all the available tours which we had already pre researched and done before so we knew what to expect of service and price. They tried to convince us that they were giving us a great deal when we knew it wasn’t but finally we agreed on a Full day tour (6h) into the Wadi with Sunset and Star Gazing, lunch and dinner as well as 2 nights stay with breakfast. We asked for the attractions which they said it was all included and then made one specific request which was to take us somewhere to do laundry as I was heading to another trip afterwards. We payed 260 JOD for 2 adults and a child when most places charge around 230-250JOD for same package in a double or triple room. Thus we were paying more but ok with it. As they took us to our accommodation it was not the bubble. When I asked why not I was told too expensive. Later I research and I find out it’s 7 JOD difference. We arrive to the room. It was clean. Nice accommodation. Breakfast was ok. And as agreed we head to the reception to bring clothes for washing. At this moment the harassment starts. No one understands English but they believe they do. They want to force you into their agenda. The guide obviously wanted to do the trip early so he could be released by 15h to do something else and taking us to the laundry was an obstacle. So they started to try to convince us to do the laundry later, I don’t accept, then they suggest to drive us to the parking and then we drive somewhere for laundry and ourselves alone back to the camp in the desert, then they try to act like they didn’t agree to this and meanwhile I am insisting I just want what I agreed and they are screaming at each other in Arabic and not willing to do as agreed.

Upon arrival, the staff were very helpful, kind and helpful helpful. helpful. The camp is very clean and feels comfortable and welcoming. We went on a half day jeep tour which was very nice and also a camel ride and the fire was burning all day with free tea And the views were perfect. We have been to a few camps in Wadi Rum, and this one exceeded ours expectations. Our families and children all loved it.
