A perfect blend of traditional pub charm, superb dining, and comfortable accommodation

The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay. The restaurant has been thoughtfully designed and serves as a fantastic extension of the traditional pub. The Sunday roast was excellent, and the wine selection was equally impressive. A good range of beers and ales was also on offer. Breakfast was superb. Our attic room was lovely. The steep stairs and low beams are simply part of the charm of staying in such a characterful old building and certainly wouldn't put me off returning. The large bathroom, complete with a separate bath and shower, was a real highlight, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Everything was immaculately clean. The location is wonderfully tranquil, close to local amenities yet tucked away from the busier tourist areas, making it an ideal place to relax and unwind.

A bit disappointed and had to eat out on the second night. Wasn't the anniversary celebration we e

Pub itself was quaint, two lads in the bar friendly, atmospheric. The breakfast was very good.

Woken up at 7.15 on the Tuesday morning by the builders right beneath our window, sawing and hammering. We were not notified of the building work going on. The evening meal in the restaurant was overpriced for what it was. Tried to be fancy with foams and garnishes but couldn't even offer us any kind of potato other than chips! Small portion, especially the venison and the duck was tough. Room was OK but very small. A bit disappointed

A cosy place away from the crowds but not too far from touristy places to visit.

It’s a well presented cosy place that is extremely welcoming

The room was a little on the small size but it didn’t detract from the enjoyment.

A memorable stay in a beautiful historic village inn.

Old world charm with modern convenience. Great food. Lovely quiet location .

Be prepared for a steep and twisty climb if you book the Attic Room! It's worth it when you get there.
