    A nice Scottish hotel with character and good location.

    The hotel is located in a convenient location for walking to Edinburgh Castle, shopping, dining and other attractions. We stayed in a bottom floor room. It was comfortable, but we were curious to try the upper-level rooms. The elevator was a definite advantage with luggage. It had a cozy Scottish feel in the living room area.

    Do not recommend. Will not return. Poor value.

    The bed was comfortable.

    Majority of staff seemed indifferent, not knowledgeable and certainly did not create welcoming environments. Food was average, service staff seemed like it was their first day. We were put in 2 different rooms- both noisy much of the night. We were way over-charged and only after I continued to question our bill was I reimbursed.
