    Lovely old house ideal for those who appreciate history

    Lovely old house with large rooms that overlooked the nature reserve or pool. Lots of birds to see from the balcony. Nice breakfast. Very friendly couple who run it and we had an enjoyable evening meal too.

    The strangest thing was not having a lockable room, although that did not end up being an issue as we were the only guests there. This is a very old house which the owners have worked hard on restoring but the upkeep must be a huge challenge and that was obvious. Probably the most frustrating part was our bed. It looked beautiful but the headboard/rest takes up about a foot of the bed so my feet were hanging over the bed (never had this before) so I strongly recommend this is amended as it meant that we didn’t sleep very well. There is also not a proper light in the bathroom which was a bit strange.

    The 125yo hall was a time capsul, it was supberb !! The breakfast was exelant, the staff very helpful.

    The old plumbing takes a long time to get hot water.

    The property is situated next to the river and has wonderful views of the river and surrounding, it's an Old Charm with lots and lots of history. The owners and staff are very friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay,memorable. Thanks once again for refunding me the monies, it really meant a lot.
