A real unique experience in Yogyakarta!!
A real special and extraordinary place. It' hard to describe in words, simply something you must experience first hand! I have stayed in hundreds of different hotels all over the world, but never anywhere even close to this. If you are up for a real, unique adventure in Yogya, go and try it out!!

A night in living history, truly unforgettable
From the moment you step inside, this place feels like a fever dream. Every corner is filled with art and statues from ancient Indonesian kings and the VOC era. Even the bedroom furniture dates from that time and is still in daily use! The collection belongs to a private collector, and it's the kind of art the National Museum would envy. This is a truly unique place to spend the night, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who wants a break from traditional hotels and a chance to sleep in history. The rooms are spotless and well maintained, and the staff are wonderful. Last tip, reach out to the hotel about activities before you plan anything. We had already booked our trips in advance, but in hindsight, the hotel offers far more special and authentic experiences than the typical tours you'd find on platforms like GetYourGuide. I wish we had asked them first!
One thing to know before you book: this is essentially a living museum, so don't expect modern conveniences like keycards. Some rooms are secured with original VOC era locks and a single key, which you leave at reception for safekeeping when you head out. For us, as a younger couple, this was a highlight and part of the charm, though guests who prefer a more modern hotel experience may want to keep it in mind. Highly recommended!

A must stay in Yogya
It is a lining work of art where the owner uses every penny he earns in restoring and upgrading the hotel. The service is tremendous and the rooms are large with good beds.
It is a bit far from the city centre.
