Left in the dark
I have stayed here once before and the location is very scenic and last stay I was very comfortable. However this stay was not.
I dont want this published, but given as feedback to the company. I have tried contacting Booking.com directly but havent received a reply after nearly 48 hours. The first night the power went out around 9 pm, and I was then awoken at 3 am by a power failure alarm. The property notes instructions say to start the generator if this occurs. There was no fuel in the generator so I couldn't. Th8s meant the gas ignition for the hot water and the gas top cooker doesn't work I advised the caretaker of this, they came down and checked everything out dur8ng the day and said it was all OK. 8n hind sight it probably looked OK because the sun was out and the solar power was work8ng, but at night the battery wasn't keeping any charge. I came back from the course I was attending that first evening and whilst there was power, it failed once I had been back for 30 minutes. I tried the generator but there was still no fuel. I advised the caretaker and said I would be ok til morning as it was after dark by that stage. She said she'd come and start the generator in the morning. I was again woken by a low power alarm at 2.30 am. The caretaker started the generator the next morning which meant I was able to have a hot shower. However there was only enough fuel in the generator to run for 20 minutes before it ran out. When I got home from the course that evening the battery was again low and the power failed. Out of the 3 nights I was there I was left in the dark which is a big safety concern given the only access to the bed in the loft is via a ladder. The fairy lights on the balustrade which could have given some light were not working as their batteries were flat. I am disappointed that there was no fuel for the generator even after I had told the caretaker there was none. I was forced to shower at the facilities where my course was being held and I believe I should be entitled to some firm of refund

Where the property is located is beautiful. We loved it.
There were many issues with the property. There were small flyers on the bed. And the toilet litter box was almost empty. We were struggle to collect some litter to put the toilet. And the BBQ machine wasn’t cleaned properly.
