Superb visit in a lovely, charming and historical B&B. Couldn’t have been better.
Lovely historical property in Oltrarno with hundreds-years-old frescoes on the wall, trompe l’oeiel ceilings, and a charming community/breakfast room with kitchen. Hosts Martina and Jacob were fabulous; laid out a varied and high quality breakfast daily including home-baked tarts and quiches, cheesecake, yogurts, fresh fruit, charcuterie, toast with butter/honey/jam options, juices, coffee’s and teas made to order. Just lovely! Ten minute walk to Ponte del Vecchio bridge, 25 minutes from central Florence. A few excellent restaurants a short stroll away, yet quiet at night. Great place - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Nothing. Great all-around.

A mixed bag
Room was spacious, linens and towels good quality and hot water very hot.
I don't know, maybe I was just tired, but I was a little underwhelmed by the place. When you're paying over $300/night for a room, should you really have to lug your bag upstairs? (I guess in Italy, and to be fair, the gentleman working there did carry one of my two bags, but told me to carry the other, after a very long day of travel.) The check-in felt rushed, like he was in a hurry to get out of there, and as though there were a few too many rules, (reasonable ones, but still... a lot of admonitions upon arrival of what not to do). It just didn't feel very welcoming or relaxing. Breakfast was nothing special, typical Continental, no hot food, pastries and juice not especially fresh. And finally, the room was dark. I am honestly a bit perplexed by all the raves for this place, and think there are better places to stay in Florence for the money. I moved from this hotel to another that charged less, and offered much more in terms of warmth, helpfulness and accommodation.
