Not good experience with booking.com
Booking.com issue I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at the property in Merimbula, NSW, booking reference 5075677449 The booking was for 3 nights for 5 adults and 2 children (aged 4 and 1). Unfortunately, the accommodation did not provide the basic facilities and services that we had paid for, and our holiday was seriously disrupted. During our stay, the property experienced significant electrical problems and we were without electricity for approximately two days. The power would repeatedly trip whenever we attempted to use appliances. As a result: We had no reliable electricity for approximately two days. The refrigerator was not working. The kitchen could not be properly used. We were unable to prepare food normally. Managing two young children, particularly in the evenings without electricity, was extremely difficult. An electrician attended the property and indicated that there were significant electrical issues requiring attention. We were also informed/observed that a bird was damaging the electrical wiring. Because of the condition of the property, we had to make alternative arrangements for the kids and our planned holiday was substantially disrupted. This was particularly difficult because we were travelling as a family group with two young children, and the accommodation was booked on the expectation that we would have basic facilities including electricity, refrigeration and a functioning kitchen throughout our stay. We therefore believe that the accommodation did not provide the service that was advertised and paid for. I am requesting a full refund for the three-night accommodation, together with reimbursement of the reasonable additional costs we incurred as a result of having to make alternative arrangements of food and accessories. I would appreciate it if Booking.com could investigate this matter with the property and advise us of the refund and compensation process.

Beautiful views. Lots of space. Well equipped.
No blockout curtains in upstairs bedroom. House could be cleaner eg. remove spiderwebs.
