The location is very convenient, right in the heart of Sarajevo’s old city centre. It is an excellent location for exploring the city on foot.
Unfortunately, our actual experience was quite disappointing compared with the excellent reviews we had read before booking. The first issue was parking. The host offered us a garage for €6 per day, but when we arrived, it turned out to be so small that our car simply could not fit inside. When we informed the host, the response was that in all the years of renting the apartment, no one had ever complained about this before. Perhaps she had simply never had guests arriving with a car of this size. What disappointed us most was the lack of help in finding an alternative. We were told that we could try to find parking on the street, where it would cost around €2–3 per hour. Obviously, compared with the originally offered €6 per day, this would have made parking extremely expensive. In the end, after making several calls and looking for alternatives ourselves, we parked in a shopping centre and paid €60 for the two days. When we entered the apartment, we immediately noticed a surprisingly large number of fragrance diffusers placed throughout the apartment. The smell was so strong that we moved some of them aside. Later, we understood why there might be so many: there was a very strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom. We also saw cockroaches both inside the apartment and in the common areas outside it, which made our stay quite uncomfortable. Although the central location is very convenient, guests should be aware that it is also very noisy at night. If you are a light sleeper, this may be an issue. Another important point is accessibility. The apartment is on the top floor, directly under the roof, and there is no elevator in the building. The staircase is quite long, and carrying luggage all the way up can be difficult. Anyone travelling with elderly people, people with limited mobility, or anyone who may find several flights of stairs challenging should definitely keep this in mind.
