  An absolute gem of a hideaway where forest tranquility meets total comfort.

  The location is perfect. It's so close to Sassafras and Olinda for those lovely village vibes, the amazing bakes at Proserpina Bakehouse, and under 5 minutes to Sherbrooke Forest, while still being just a 15-minute drive from the Belgrave Woolworths for groceries. Yet, despite being so convenient, it genuinely feels like it's tucked far away in a mystical mountain ash forest. Just off the main road down a quiet lane sits the most welcoming treehouse. I loved the split-level design built right into the trees, where absolutely every view out of the windows is pure greenery. I could easily spend hours on the balcony just staring into the forest and listening to the magical birdsong. The interior design is beautiful—the choice of colors, textures, and all the subtle, loving touches are what make this place so special. The kitchen is also well-equipped for most holiday cooking, and the overall cleanliness is top-notch. Check-in was smooth and completely hassle-free. Lorenna is a wonderfully personable and approachable host; we really appreciated her sharing details of the house’s renovation process over the years. You can truly feel her warmth and love for the treehouse through those stories. I highly recommend the Sassafras Treehouse to anyone looking for an easy, relaxing getaway into the forests of the Dandenongs.

  Light filled home amongst the trees with walkable access to walking tracks and lovely cafes.

  Lovely position amongst the trees with easy access to sassafras. Well equiped and spotless.

  Location was perfect for attending our sons wedding at Monbulk. Owner has taken care to make it comfortable and attractive House is very serene looking out at the trees. Appreciated the washing machine and dryer. Each bedroom is on a seperate level so would only recommend for physically able adults and children. Not toddler or frail adult friendly. 2 bathrooms very handy. Very nice sitting area. Remember to bring some slippers in winter as the floor is very cold. Heating works well and log fire is great. The only drawback we found was the driveway. It was a steep dirt incline onto a carport. We did scrap our Mazda 3 even on an angle reverse it and a ford ranger ute had a bit of trouble reversing in in the rain. Take the access road slow as there are some potholes
