  My Birthday Weekend

  I loved the fact that the property was right on the beach making watching the sunrise and beach visits very easy. I thoroughly enjoyed the air conditioned lounge, too. I loved the fact that there was a beach shower on the property to rinse off.

  I understand that things by the beach rust but all the curtain rails were rusted. The place also doesn't look like it does in the pictures. The freezer was frozen solid inside and there were no steak knives. The main bedroom should also be air-conditioned. The shower drain floods after about 5 minutes of use.

  The location is excellent. Walk out the property and you are on the boardwalk to the beach.

  Location great, host friendly, cleanliness of unit and lack of daily cleaning service disappointing.

  Location was great. Host very frendly.

  Unit was very dirty. Room cupboards not cleaned and kitchen cupboards also dirty with clutter in cupboards. Broken pottery bowls lying on the floor of the upstairs balcony, and children's beach toys scattered in the garden of downstairs balcony. Loose carpets are filthy. Freezer drawers were iced up and could not open with previous tenants food still in drawer. We put our meat in the only available drawer where lid was broken off. After contacting the host the cleaner came in and defrosted the freezer. Unfortunately we weren't home and she took all our meat in freezer as well. No other cleaning was done when she came in. No tumble dryer as advertised. The host did however offer to have our laundry collected. According to the add the unit is cleaned daily. We had no cleaner at all. We received only one key used to open down stairs and upstairs balcony - this makes no sense No aircon or ceiling fan in the main bedroom, just a hole where the ceiling fan used to be. The garage is filled with old fans and broken items standing around.

  Relaxing

  Its seafacing/ beach is easily accessible. Felt quite safe and comfortable. Had the basics and bedding was changed midweek which is great. Host is readily responsive. Centrally located.

  A few things (not deal breakers) could be upgraded eg braai stand (couldn’t use it as it was slightly broken), more beach chairs, we only found 1 in the 6 sleeper but there are just nice add ons.
