Disappointing Honeymoon Stay — Poor Value, Comfort, and Service
We liked that we could see the lake.
We stayed five nights during our honeymoon, paying approximately $360 per night. Unfortunately, the accommodations and service fell well short of expectations, particularly at this price. Cleanliness and Maintenance: Upon arrival, the bathroom smelled unpleasant, and the shower drain was clogged. We were unable to use our shower for the first two nights. These basic maintenance issues should have been addressed before check-in. Room Comfort: The property sits directly along a busy lakeside road, making traffic noise disruptive, especially at night. Without air conditioning, the room was uncomfortable. My advance request for an upper-floor room went unanswered, and we were assigned a first-floor room. We paid extra for a kitchen and living area, but the space was considerably smaller than the listing photos suggested. The kitchen lacked basic supplies, and the sagging two-seat sofa was so uncomfortable that we resorted to sitting on dining chairs to watch television. Breakfast: Although the breakfast buffet offered hot and cold options, the selection was identical every morning. Some variety would have been appreciated. Communication and Service: At checkout, we were surprised by a €90 laundry charge for one small bag of clothing. The per-item pricing had not been clearly communicated. When we questioned the charge and mentioned our two nights without a functioning shower, the owner became visibly upset. He reduced the fee to €40 but showed little accountability for our experience. Overall: At $360 per night, we expected better maintenance, comfort, transparency, and hospitality. Unfortunately, this property delivered poor value and disappointing customer service. If comfort and clear communication matter to you, I recommend looking elsewhere. I hope this feedback encourages improvements and helps future guests make an informed decision.
