The best stay in Japan
Staying at Senkyoro was the highlight of our Japan trip! If you want to experience top Japanese hospitality, you should definitely book here. Me and my husband felt like the staff could literally read our minds and anticipate our needs and questions. We had exquisite kaiseki dinners and traditional Japanese breakfast during our stay. Don't be afraid to try the futons. I swear it felt more comfortable and relaxing than a western type bed. We enjoyed the full immersion in Japanese culture. The apartment was very elegant and offered a view over the mountains. The Senkyoro onsen Is renowned for its properties and effects for the skin and is the most beautiful outside onsen you could imagine. The surroundings of the hotel are also to be enjoyed. There is a gorgeous Japanese garden on the property with many koi fish swimming around, hoping you would bring them a snack. The hotel is 8 min walk away from the Hakone glass museum, which is a must-see in Hakone. Thank you, Akane-san (our nikka-san for the stay) and all Senkyoro staff! I hope to see you again prosperous and healthy in the future.
I believe there isn't anything you could dislike in this place. I am looking forward to visiting again.

Highs and lows
The nature was peaceful and our room was beautiful. The onsen was relaxing and you could hire a private onsen for 2200 yen for 45 minutes.
The food was disappointing as they were not accommodating for vegetarians and shellfish allergies - we mentioned these concerns and were told there is no flexibility and they continued to serve us breakfast we were unable to safely eat. We expect more personalised service for the price of accommodation especially when allergies are concerned. The accommodation is also quite isolated so limited alternative options within walking distance.
