    Beautiful Ryokan with breathtaking view 🌊

    We loved the 2 nights we stayed here in Shimoda! The view from the room was breathtaking 🥰 It's very close to the most beautiful beach I have seen in Japan so far. A lot of people are surfing here and it's great to go into the ocean - the hotel even has a private entrance to the beach. The staff was really nice and the Kaiseki dinner and Japanese style breakfast was absolutely amazing! I can only recommend it to anyone who ever wants a Ryokan experience, even though it's not a traditional Ryokan. Shimoda city itself is also really beautiful and worth to be explored! 🇯🇵

    The breakfast and dinner is not served in your own room. But that's a good trade-off for the amazing view and beach, so totally fine! Also worth noting: There is a public bath, but you're not allowed to use it if you have any tattoos. There are two beautiful private Onsen that you can book in that case (or if you want to use it together with your partner). Shimoda is a bit of a ride from Osaka or Tokyo, but it's worth it because the most beautiful beaches are in the south of Izu. :)

    立地が最高です。海まで直結で、海出入り専用の入り口にシャワー更衣室と海水浴に必要な設備が揃ってます。 目の前の海がとても綺麗で、ほどほどに波もあり、良い海水浴が楽しめました。 スタッフの接客とサービスが◎

    料理が量少なめで品目が少なく、こういった旅館の料理としては少々不満ですが。許容範囲内ですかね。 この立地でこの料金と考えると仕方ないかなあといった感想。

    海を見ながら露天風呂で温泉三昧and海鮮づくしの旅

    テラスから海が一望で景色が最高。部屋に露天風呂がついてるタイプだったので、波の音を聞きながら入るお風呂は贅沢でした。食事担当のスタッフが美味しい食事に花を添えてくれるような接客でした。

    レトロな宿なので古い建物は仕方ないけど、部屋に入って正面にテラスへ続く窓のカーテンが破れていましたのには愕然でした。窓のサッシや、扉にも埃が付いてたり…細やかな清掃はできてないようで残念でした。
