The house was lovely and clean and smelt really fresh and clean when we arrived. There was a lovely welcome package of goodies to eat and drink, that was a surprise and we enjoyed it. It's the little things that make the difference! It's nicely decorated and does look nice and is comfortable to stay in. Good bedroom choices. The house was well stocked with the basics and a bit more to be fair to this place. It is what you would expect for the price and the owners know how to make you feel cared for with what they provide. It's in a great place for getting to shops and walking round the harbour. It was easy to access and details that were sent were clear, the company rang the day before our travel to ensure we had all the info and if we had any questions. The information pack on arrival was great and packed with info.
Only had one issue and this was there was a feather quilt on the double bed. Although very nice and most people would not have a problem, I'm asthmatic and severely allergic. However I had a great response when I raised this issue and they replaced this with a brand new quilt the very next day. Which was very quick and very much appreciated. The double bed was too hard for me, which again was more a personal preference and not a fault. The feed back from family members staying in the other bedrooms were beds were very comfortable, back bedroom had no hanging space for clothes but we just shared the wardrobe in the main bedroom so not a problem for us, and they would have liked black out blinds in the bedrooms, but again not a complaint just a personal preferance. Although the house is lovely there were some decorating finishing touches that were visible in the decor, and to make this property better, a keen eye for detail would benefit who ever decorated it, especially in the bathroom, it's a little rough around the edges, although it was very clean and tidy and did not cause any problems. The hallway paint has been touched up, but looks to be a slight different shade and only bits of the wall touched up.so looked unfinished. Please note I am picking fault here and this by no means ditracted form how lovely the house is and what a good host we had and what a great stay we had.

The strong smell of smoke ruined our stay
The decor was lovely, they left wine , flapjacks and milk which was great. Very spacious house and had a dishwasher and washing machine machine ( with laundry pods and dishwasher capsules left)
It would have been great but the smell of stale smoke was overbearing and it made for a very unpleasant stay. We opened all the windows but the smell is ingrained in the furniture which is such a shame. The bath/shower was crazy high which resulted in my mil having a nasty accident.im 5ft 7 and found it hard getting in and out

The cottage is in an excellent location in the centre of Amble.
The property was an excellent size and in a good location. It was very comfortable though I did notice in the comments book some people had been left biscuits and flapjacks in a welcome pack, I searched long and hard for ours ……
The bins were full when we arrived, the back gate seemed to be jammed, lots of cobwebs and kitchen equipment not very clean
