A Very Disappointing Stay – Do Not Be Fooled by the Pictures!

The apartment was extremely disappointing, and we regret booking it. The decor and appearance look beautiful in the pictures, but the reality is completely different. The building is very old and clearly needs proper maintenance, which has been neglected to an unacceptable degree. We paid a high price because the pictures made the apartment look beautiful and comfortable, but the actual experience was disappointing in every way. The main issues we experienced: - Bathroom floor: The condition of the bathroom floor was shocking. Around half of the original flooring had been removed and replaced with different types of boards instead of tiles, leaving visible gaps in the floor. This is not a minor issue that can be overlooked. It is a serious maintenance problem that is completely unacceptable for an apartment rented to guests at this price. - Dampness and heating: The apartment was extremely damp and had a strong musty smell. The bedroom was also damp, making it very difficult to sleep comfortably. We could not get properly warm during our stay. We contacted the hosts to ask how to turn on the heating, but they never responded. The bathroom also has no ventilation, and the layout is extremely impractical, as you have to walk through the bathroom to reach the bedroom and again to get from the bedroom to the living room. - Dirty towels and the hosts' unacceptable behaviour: We have never experienced this level of disregard and disrespect from hosts before. Upon arrival, we found towels with obvious yellow stains. We contacted the hosts and asked them to replace the towels, but they did not respond until three days later. When they finally replied, they questioned what we meant by dirty towels and claimed that they had checked the apartment and everything was clean. We explained again that the towels had visible stains and that Booking.com did not allow us to send photos through the platform.
