Clean and well-equipped apartment, but an absolutely disastrous experience due to terrible communication, repeated acces
It was clean and well equipped.
Unfortunately, this was one of the worst accommodation experiences I have ever had in terms of communication and management. It started immediately upon arrival. We were given the wrong code for the apartment door and spent a very long time trying to get in. I repeatedly called the phone number provided by the host, but my calls were declined and I was told via message that they did not speak Spanish. I explained several times that I speak both English and German as well, but they still refused to answer the phone. Eventually, after receiving another code and figuring things out ourselves, we managed to access the apartment. A few days later, the electricity in the apartment was suddenly cut off. According to the reception staff, this happened because the electricity bill had not been paid on time by the owner/management. We were offered another apartment, which we appreciated, but it was smaller and only had one bedroom instead of the two we had booked. As a result, my friend ended up sleeping in the original apartment without electricity while I stayed in the replacement apartment. When we tried to find a proper solution and later needed to extend our stay, communication became even more frustrating. We were repeatedly quoted different prices, sometimes even higher prices for apartments that were smaller than the one we had originally booked. To make matters worse, exactly the same door-code problem happened with the replacement apartment. Once again, we were given an incorrect code and could not reach anyone responsible. We spent around two hours waiting at reception trying to get access. In the end, a very helpful reception employee — who was not even part of the company managing the apartment — managed to contact the cleaning staff and help us get inside. Meanwhile, our original apartment still had no electricity. The whole situation was absurd.
