Do not go here.... The owner is the antithesis of a good sri lankan. He's a cheat, be forewarned
Place was clean
I have been to hundreds of hotels all over the world, I know the inns and out. Cons: *I started a shower and found that there was no soap. Do these people expect me to carry a bar of soap everywhere? *Middle of the eveing ACs stopped and no ceiling fan because the owner is some sort of great engineer which I am not *Had to bring up a pedestal fan at 3 in the morning because I was drowning in sweat. *There is no RO and the water provided is filled with sediments. The owner thinks it's okay because I don't know * Refusal of the owner to entertain any calls. Out right disconnected my call and then sent a message at two in the morning saying sorry I could not take your call because I was busy ( but not busy enough to book another appointment) * not to mention the house is under repairs and at 7 in the morning grinding wheels give you a lovely wake up call. *The owner lakmal might respond to this and let me be be clear all sri lankans I've found to be very straightforward and honest. But you are the exception. You got a guy giving black dollar @318 but you yourself took it at 330 saying "that's your business" . Penny pinchers will always be Penny pinchers because they think the way to wealth is being miserly instead of just making more money. I make 500 usd per day of honest money, you'll be a penny pincher for life. You really are the worst sri lankan I met. Greed transends boundries of civilty. If you want to keep going I'll ensure you're removed from booking.com

Worst Stay in Sri Lanka – Extremely Unprofessional Host! We had a terrible experience at this property. The owner was extremely rude and behaved aggressively towards us for no apparent reason. As soon as my four friends and I arrived at night, we paid the full amount as shown in the Booking.com application. However, the owner insisted that we cancel our reservation through the app. When we refused, he started shouting at us and demanded that we leave the property. He openly explained that he wanted us to cancel the booking so he could avoid paying commission to Booking.com. We were uncomfortable with this request because we wanted our reservation to remain valid and our rights as guests to be protected. Despite having done nothing wrong, we were forced to leave the property at midnight. The owner's behaviour was disrespectful, intimidating, and completely unacceptable. Although we have received our refund, the refund does not excuse the way we were treated. Booking.com should investigate this incident and take appropriate action to ensure other travellers do not face a similar experience. We strongly advise other travellers to think carefully before booking this property. Our experience was extremely disappointing and ruined our night in Sri Lanka.

Exceptional host, spotless place, and ideal location!
We had a wonderful stay here. The owner went above and beyond for us—he was always available whenever we needed anything. When there was a town-wide water cut during our visit, he kept us updated constantly and even offered to let us cancel our reservation, which showed how honest and caring he is. We felt completely safe throughout our stay. The property itself is super clean and well maintained. The location is unbeatable: you can easily walk to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, and the cultural dance performance center is right nearby. Having access to a pantry/kitchen to cook our own meals was a huge plus. Excellent value for money—we would definitely come back!

pretty good, worth the money, but not exceptional.
The property was clean and spacious. There were a lot of tables and chairs. Good location; although not close to the centre, we liked the neighbourhood. The view from the kitchen window is lovely! The hosts were nice.
The kitchen was pretty basic. We cooked our meals there, and it was a struggle. Some better knives, a chopping board and a few more dishes and utensils would have been better. I have seen this complaint in other reviews before, but i expected that the property would have updated the kitchen. Unfortunately, it was not the case. Nonetheless, it was a minor issue. Another minor issue is that the bathroom is not well lit; it's very hard to shave there. Also there was no handwash in the bathroom. There are no mirrors in the entire property except a small one in the bathroom. A mirror instead of so many chairs would definitely be more useful.
