Prime location for this boutique hotel
The location was superb -- right below the Lisbon Castle and on a hill above the old town. A free public elevator is nearby to assist getting up the hill. Despite being in the heart of the city, it was remarkably quiet in the room, as the hotel is located in a zone restricted to motor vehicle traffic. Both the room and the terrace restaurant had impressive views over the city and the river. The breakfast was quite good. The hotel provided (and replenished) complementary bottled water and port (!) in the room. Finally, the staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating.
The bed/pillows could have been more comfortable. The door to the bathroom wouldn't latch properly. If you arrive in a taxi that doesn't have access to this controlled access road, you might need to roll your suitcases up a hill a ways. Entrance can easily be missed. At first glance, it seems to be just an entrance to a restaurant.

I highly recommend staying at this hotel. The staff is so personable, and make your stay. Feels so special.
The staff, the location, the food. Everything five out of five highly recommend.
The rooms are beautiful with lots of (window) and natural light overlooking in the city and the river
