What We Liked * Excellent location * Walking distance to the beach * Pool access * The cottage itself has a lot of potential * The owner was communicative when issues came up during our stay
What We Didn’t Like Unfortunately, there were far too many issues for us to feel comfortable giving a positive review. After driving almost 6 hours, we had to wait about an hour past our expected check-in time. When we arrived, the owner was still at the cottage working on things. He then had to leave to purchase an HVAC filter because the existing one appeared extremely dirty and overdue for replacement. The cottage did not appear to have been properly cleaned before our arrival. It smelled like someone had been cooking, an element on the stove had been left on, and there were old coffee grounds in the coffee maker. The floors appeared dirty, and the glass doors had fingerprints and marks all over them. The refrigerator also needed a much more thorough cleaning. The outdoor grill was extremely dirty and appeared as though it had not been cleaned in quite some time, so we did not feel comfortable using it. The biggest issue was the cockroach infestation in the kitchen. We saw cockroaches coming out of the drawers and cabinets, which made us extremely uncomfortable using the kitchen or storing food there. After our stay, I also found a review from April from another guest who reported a cockroach issue at the property. Finding that another guest had reported the same issue before our stay was very concerning. There were also additional maintenance and cleanliness issues, including an unclean shower in the master bathroom and a leak in the upstairs bathroom. After checkout, the owner also called my personal phone number and texted my personal number asking us to leave him a 10-star review because he had given us 10 stars. He also sent the same request through the rental app. I did not feel comfortable being contacted on my personal number for this when there was already a messaging system available through the rental platform. I contacted the owner afterward and requested a partial refund because of the condition of the property.

In a good area to attractions and the beach and stores
Infestation of roaches in the kitchen and eating area. Did contact the host and he did say he would have it exterminated once we left! However that didn't help us while we were there. Nor was there an offer to compensate for this issue!
