  Excellent size throughout, well worth staying at!

  The flat was an excellent size! The kitchen was very modern, spacious with a good size dining table in the middle, an excellent shower, in again, a very spacious modern bathroom. It was lovely & warm with the heating too. The 2 bedrooms were made into our configuration of choice with a sofa bed in the living room also. Tea, coffee, sugar, toiletries & a good supply of towels were all provided. We had a small shop over the road & a Lidl 6mins walk away. We also had access to a back garden which would have been lovely to use if the weather was a bit warmer. Good communication with the owner too 😊

  We booked the flat as it was ground floor and my mum uses a walker. A grab rail in the bathroom would have been handy as my mum couldn’t get into the shower, a none slip bath mat would have been an advantage too, although this is only to our personal preference.

  The review I didn’t want to have to write

  Unfortunately I held off with this review but have to now. The oven went on fire whilst we were there after we had it on for just 5 minutes to the point emergency services were called and we had to be taken to hospital on oxygen. When this happened there was no fire extinguisher anywhere in the property at all - we had to run down the street to find one from a shop. We called the host repeatedly and the number provided kept saying “not connecting”. The whole property had to be cleared of smoke by emergency services - we could not stay there a second night and had to pay for a hotel for the additional night. That day there was no check in with us to make sure we were ok, there’s been zero offer of a refund despite asking. We spent £280 on this property then an additional £100 on a hotel and are yet to even be kept in the loop. Continuously having to ask for updates. We have now put an official complaint in with booking.com who have taken weeks to respond. We felt our safety has not been cared about at all. Both of us were on oxygen at the side of the street, taken to hospital to be checked out, highly distressed and 7 weeks later both the host and booking.com are not being forthcoming with taking us seriously or helping with me having to continuously ask for updates and receiving nothing or 2 word answers. And we have still not been refunded. Cleanliness - not great - we counted 8 spiders in the property - all rooms had them. Whilst this can’t be helped sometimes due to location there were cobwebs on all ceilings. The couches in the living room were rock solid and there was liquid that has obviously been spilt and not cleaned so was crusted. Additionally the door to the shared entrance which is right at the front door just stays open - did not feel particularly safe.

  Perfect for a weekend stop-over

  great service from hosts on providing info and support. Location spot on for trip into Halifax centre. Very clean and spacious living/sleeping area. Definitely recommend.

  Beds a little soft but appreciate everyone different so not a massive issue.
