Gorgeous villa in a cute village with beautiful views and an incredible pool!
Spartacus Villa is a very special and magical place. I rented it for a group of friends to celebrate my 40th birthday and it was exactly the right spot to host such a special trip. There's so much to say and so I'll try to break down the feedback below. Location: It's located in a small village, we had 5 cars and there was always space to park them in town. There isn't much in town so if you're looking for a place where you can walk to restaurants/markets/etc, then this is not it because you'll basically have to drive to get anywhere. There is one taverna in town that was excellent and was able to accommodate our large group easily. Even though you have to drive everywhere, it's all located very close - multiple supermarkets within 7-10m drives, beach within 15m drive, pharmacy within 10-15m drive and bigger towns like Rythemno and Margarites within 30m driving. Property/Amenities: The property is beautiful and modern with the standouts being the outdoor kitchen and dining area and the pool - really all the outdoor spaces were amazing and where we spent most of our time. The property managers provided us with recommendations for a private chef (which we did and it was amazing!), a yoga teacher who came to teach us on site, and local tennis courts where some of us went one morning. If your group is more an indoor type, there wasn't a lot of spaces to accommodate everyone inside but ample space outside. Every room but 1 has a full bathroom en suite, but even the 1 room without has a full bathroom directly outside its' door and easily accessible. Speaking of accessibility, one thing to note is 2 of the rooms are only accessible via a metal, spiral staircase that looks cool but is steep and only a few in our party could use. And another room was hard to access unless you walked through another bedroom to get.
There were a few pieces of feedback/things to note, but I have been in touch with the owner who is very responsive and proactive about fixing things. Property/Amenities: Many of these things on their own seem small, but I think combined felt like a lot given how much we were paying. Some of the appliances listed were not working such as the espresso machine. There were other ways to make coffee, but our group ended up going out to get coffees in the morning because they preferred espresso vs. the pods. One of the rooms had a running toilet that didn't flush and a shower that didn't drain and leaked into the room whenever in use. Some supplies that we thought would be included such as coffee pods, paper towels, dish towels, laundry detergent, and dish detergent were not provided. When I reached out to the host (not the owner) about these things, I was told that we were supposed to provide those things for ourselves, including toilet paper, because the property wasn't a hotel. My feedback was to explicitly tell ppl that when booking. Despite this response, we were still given some dish soap and dish towels but it hindered us reaching out again during our stay for other things (ie. broken espresso machine and toilet, etc). I don't think much can be done about this but some of the rooms had a strong sulphur smell and at checkout we were told it was the AC units. Host: During our stay the owner, who lives next door and I believe is typically the person there to greet guests, was out of town so we had another host to support us. It might have been a cultural difference, but the host was pretty rude in her communication before and during our stay. I understand that hospitality can be exhausting and often you deal with terrible people, but our group was respectful and I felt that for the amount we were paying that we would have been communicated with better.

A beautiful villa perfect for large groups no matter the desired experience wished for
This is a brilliantly designed property situated in the peaceful town of Mesi. The pool area is a real highlight, extremely clean and spacious, with a well equipped outdoor kitchen area, perfect for evening meals and star gazing. The hosts were super friendly and helpful with recommendations. All bedrooms were well sized with comfy beds and linen. A lot of thought has gone into this villa - highly recommended for big groups.
