Absolutely loved this place and the people!

Super friendly and welcoming hosts and locals. Immaculate and tastefully decorated rooms. Delicious breakfast catering for all dietary needs. (Kitchen was being refurbished when we were there but this presented no problem at all. The landlady invited us to eat takeaway food in the pub). Reasonably priced. Very dog friendly. We will definitely be back!

Can't think of anything we didn't like about this place.

    Welcoming and cosy

The hotel owner went out of her way to make us welcome and apologised for the kitchen refurbishment which meant evening meals weren't available. She recommended a hotel in Kirkcudbright for dinner which was good. Our room at The Star was very comfortable and peaceful and the vegetarian breakfast was great. We'll definitely stay again, hopefully soon!

Room was clean, comfortable, and in a lovely quiet location. Had a fun night in the hotel bar, lovely locals.
