Comfortable, grand feeling Scottish hotel - beautiful setting overlooking Loch
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The location and feel of the hotel was beautiful and relaxing. Fires & candles on around communal areas made it feel cosy and warm. The sitting rooms, bar are decorated well and feel comfortable with enough space for small or larger groups. Super relaxing spaces. Games and books available if needed. Meals were nice but if you are staying for a few days choice on menu is not huge - Tarbert is 5 mins drive away if you are looking for shops or eating options. Walk around the hotel and to the shore is beautiful (there's a wee map) but be careful in some weathers are it was slippy due to leaves, mud in areas. We spotted seals when my wee boy was skimming stones and he also enjoyed throwing sticks over the bridge into the wild river. Bathroom toiletries were nice and bed comfortable - nice touch having a sofa so we could gather as a family in room.
The room was clean but there were cobwebs on the ceiling and our bathroom floor wasn't super clean. The walled garden could be beautiful but understand it's a big commitment! Cost! Could be more choice of meal options when staying over a few days - would have been nice to enjoy more meals in the hotel with family.
