Strand Motel is like the placss you stayed in the 70's and 80's. Not the refurbished 'retro' pretend hotels - the real deal. Original bathrooms. Basic facilities. And this was refreshing. Staff were welcoming, rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Bring all your own toiletries. No bath gel or shampoo provided. Breakfast at the cafe out frount was exceptional. Didnt go in the pool but it looked refreshing enough with a shade sail over. We will be stating here again.
Dont expect to get beachfront views like the photos show. Lots of concrete surfaces so the radiant heat would be extremely hot in Summer.

The most outstanding thing about this accomodation was the cleanliness!!! Hats off to the cleaners!
Location was excellent ! Right opposite the beach and close to a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and hotels. It’s an older accommodation but absolutely spotless! The room was small but had everything we needed - a small kitchenette with plates, cutlery, microwave, fridge and kettle. Beds were very comfortable and there was even a small balcony that overlooked the Strand beach. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
