Friendly staff, nice quiet location.cleaning needs to be improved.
Older property quite quaint, bar area has an open fire which was very nice. The bedroom was big enough with plenty of space for clothes. Good selection of teas and coffee in the room. Food was nice but over priced
No shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. Only 1 hand towel for 2 people. Not very clean, lots of dust, fluff and cobwebs . No change of towels. Floors not cleaned whilst we were there on a 4 night stay.

A glorious retreat for those who remember what pubs used to be like before they all turned into gator pubs and cocktail
Very traditional and historic. Homely. Liked that it had character. The food in the restaurant was really special. No loud music, teenagers, fancy overpriced cocktails or pretension. Just a solid good old fashioned pub which is a dying breed these days.
There’s nowhere round about to really visit on foot. You’d need a car to get to civilisation but that didn’t bother us. Fine for a run or a dog walk. Brampton is nearby which is a lovely little town for a spot of shopping.
