OKAY FOR A NIGHT OR 2 MAX
Upon arrival, I did briefly admire the building security, facial recognition and all that.. very futuristic, very “I live in a spy film.” Unfortunately, that’s where the wow factor ended. Checking into the unit, the first thing that hit me was just how tiny it is… and somehow, despite the limited space, there’s no proper wardrobe. You get a small hanging area with three hangers (generous, I know), and that’s it. There is a wardrobe opposite the bed … but it’s locked. Because obviously, nothing says “welcome, make yourself at home” like unusable storage in a shoebox-sized studio. For one person, maybe you could cope. For two? Nowhere to put clothes, nowhere to unpack.. it makes a big difference when you’re staying more than a night. Then the kitchen situation… I’ve genuinely never stayed in an Airbnb or studio flat that doesn’t have a kettle. But don’t worry.. there is an air fryer. Because when you’re desperate for a cup of tea, what you really want is to… crisp something. Basic essentials would have gone a long way here, especially for a week-long stay. Speaking of a week… no extra bedsheets provided, which isn’t ideal. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was also half diluted with water, so I had to pump it about ten times just to get actual soap. A small thing, but it adds up. And the bed… honestly, where do I start. It’s easily the hardest bed I’ve ever slept on… rock solid. Woke up with back pain every morning. The pillows didn’t help, but the mattress was on another level entirely. “Uncomfortable” doesn’t quite cover it. Overall, I really wish I’d spent a bit more for somewhere with basic comforts and a little breathing room. Lesson learned for my next trip to Rio.
All mentioned above.
