    We loved our stay!

Stunning views across the sea - we could have spent the whole break just soaking up the ever-changing views. Lovely quirky original features in the actual property (decorated ceiling, split-level living/sleeping areas, huge mirrored fireplace) and it has everything you need for a short break by the sea, including monoculars to view the passing ships and blankets to snuggle up with if you get chilly having the doors to the balcony open to listen to the sea. Lots of storage for clothes. The kitchen was very thoughtfully designed for a small space - dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and oven - so very easy to self cater. Plenty of on-street parking, and direct access to the beach for lovely walks. The (main) bed was super comfy (we didn’t use the second bed so can’t review). We really enjoyed ourselves and would stay again. And our hosts were great - very easy to contact and responsive to our (self-inflicted) issue with the keys. Thank you!

Some areas were a little tired with paintwork knocks, and both shower cubicles could do with a deep clean. The fireplace hearth was missing, so bare concrete with sharp edges was a bit of a worry with our young grandchild. The freezer needs defrosting as it was difficult to close. Just a few tweaks needed.

    memorable

The location was on the corner of a quiet road and the double aspect of the main room and kitchen, had the wow! factor. The flat is on the second floor of a large Victorian house and between the front door is a quiet road, a grassy promenade and the beach. Our hosts dealt immediately with a small issue about the fridge, they arrived and we met them, such great hosts! Watching the moon rise as we relaxed on the huge really comfortable sofa after a day of Steam trains, climbing the lighthouse at Dunganess, was fantastic! If you remember to look left at 5am, out of the side window, at the time of the year we were there, hot July, you could watch the sun rise. There were plenty of options to eat locally and we found eating out really reasonable. It's a 15 minute walk from the main start of the Romney, Hythe and Dimchurch railway, there is plenty of parking there if you don't fancy the walk, we had a Rover ticket and travelled to Dunganess, what an amazing place. Similarly close is the huge RSPB reserve and the Power Station that dominates the skyline. Such a very special few days. We want to return!
