  Poor management marred a stay

  The property is very much as appears in the photographs. It was clean, and the downstairs, very spacious. The upstairs appears quite spacious, but the pitching of the roof impacts its usability, but that is clear in the photos. It's decorated and laid out well though. The beds are very firm, and while a problem for us, will perhaps be a bonus for others.

  The lower score is primarily in response to very poor issue response from the managing agent (Canguro Properties). Prior to gaining access, message response was relatively timely and helpful. Following check in however, the situation changed dramatically. To illustrate, on check-in we discovered the downstairs ensuite toilet flushing mechanism was completely broken (indeed falling off the wall - and would have been obvious in cleaning). Mindful a deposit had been taken, (and how such can be abused), we reported the issue immediately. The agent responded, advising they were discussing the issue and "...will get back to you very soon". All communication ceased from that point however. Indeed, Canguro's mobile was subsequently switched off for the rest of our stay. This was especially concerning when all power to the apartment ceased at 8:30am on the day of our departure. Cold showers all round (and yes the fuse box was in tact and untriggered). The alleged 24/7 emergency contact email produced no response, then or at any time since. There were other minor issues (light switches not working, wall sockets not actually taking plugs, internet not reaching the upstairs areas, etc), all of which were of course manageable. Even the toilet issue was less so when we discovered late on day 3 there was an additional downstairs toilet hidden in a small closet recess for the washing machine. To simply have been advised/reminded of its existence would have been very helpful had communication remained open. We understand also that having arrived on a Friday may have presented an issue in sourcing tradesmen, but to receive no advice/update at all during the stay was extremely unprofessional. An opportunity lost. I don't enjoy writing negative reviews. Sadly, what might have been an great stay in a well-located and potentially lovely apartment, was significantly impacted for us all by its poor management and customer support.

  I wouldn't wish this stay on my worst enemy

  From start to finish, this was the most unacceptable stay we have ever had. We booked this property for our wedding weekend and specifically chose it for the free parking, the AC, and the spacious living area with natural light - all of which, were essential to our preparations for the big day. When we arrived, NONE of those features were accessible. 1st: the property said the parking spot was no longer available, "due to changes in Verona's ZTL policy" (making us think this would be the case anywhere we tried to stay). Upon arrival, they shared that, actually, the parking lot was just, "under worksite until 20th of July". In other words, they had LIED, and now it was too late for us to move. 2nd: the entire check-in process was botched by a 3rd-party agency that showed up late, forced communications off of Booking.com, and required us to provide personal details AND pay a deposit (w/ additional fees) via a totally separate platform before they would let us in. This behavior continued throughout our stay. 3rd: after finally making it into the unit, we discovered the owners had SEIZED ALL THE AC REMOTES and declared they would be MANIPULATING THE TEMPERATURE ON OUR BEHALF. Immediately, we noticed the apartment was very hot. They told us to be patient. FOR THREE STRAIGHT DAYS we BEGGED the hosts to turn on the AC and lower the temperatures. The apartment was 30+ DEGREES CELSIUS (86+ F) and that's WITH all the window shades closed. We had to hold ice packs against our chest just to try to get any sleep. Again and again, they lied and said the AC was on. We have pictures of the AC UNITS TURNED OFF. After 3 days of living in the dark, sweating & exhausted, w/ zero sleep and ZERO HELP from the hosts, we packed our things and moved out, forced to pay a fortune for a last-minute alternative in the middle of high season, on the 1st night of an opera weekend, the day before our wedding (which they knew), no less.

  Beautiful apartment in the middle of everything

  Lovely apartment. Large and Very comfortable. Full kitchen and living room with large tv. Perfectly situated th the city center a few blocks away from the arena and with plenty of restaurants and shops near by. Host is wonderful! Would stay again!

  Verona, you was beautiful

  The apartment is very modern with all the home comforts and the location was perfect for ease to all the location!

  The top bath lights need to be replaced as currently halogen and really hot!
