Location was both a positive and a negative. Ideally located within close proximity to amenities, bars restaurants and shops. The negative of this was close proximity to the main square and side street with loud noise from the patrons into the late hours and early mornings as signs to respect residential areas were not adhered to unfortunately.
The Real Cost: We paid a premium rate for this apartment, sacrificing cheaper, larger two bedroom apartments within the same area specifically because it advertised a pool, as very few apartments offer a pool option due to the close proximity to the sea. The listing vaguely mentioned an "additional charge" but completely hid the actual cost. Upon arrival, we were hit with a massive surcharge: a mandatory €250 card system costing €25 per person, per day. For our family of three, this meant an unexpected €75 a day / €900 total over our 12-day stay—nearly doubling the cost of our holiday. When we challenged the host company, they admitted in writing via the app that the listing "was not clear enough" but flatly refused to waive or adjust the fee. More importantly, upon checking deeper into past reviews, multiple previous customers have explicitly raised this exact same issue, calling the pool an expensive external local attraction rather than a property amenity. Booking.com is fully aware of this host's bait-and-switch pricing mechanism but has actively failed to police their own platform or force the host to explicitly list the €25/day rate. By ignoring a documented pattern of hidden fees, Booking.com is enabling misleading advertising. Be warned: do not book this property if you expect an inclusive family pool, and do not trust the platform's price transparency here. This has been escalated as a formal breach of EU consumer law to the Maltese authorities (MCCAA).
