Lovely little house in central Chester-le-Street

This little house is centrally placed in Chester-le-Street, just 10 minutes walk from the railway station and 20 minutes from the County Cricket ground. It has a comfortable sitting room and a well equipped kitchen. The bathroom is spacious, and the master bedroom light and roomy. We appreciated the flexibility offered by being able to use the sofa bed. We found our host, Karen, to be extremely helpful in her communications, and we knew we could get back to her about anything we needed to ask. Despite the little misgivings mentioned below, we really loved the house and enjoyed our stay.

The second (small) bedroom has a 4 foot wide bed, which is only really suitable for one adult to sleep in - hence my being grateful for the sofa bed. The stairs are a bit steep and have no banister at the very top - which someone of limited mobility needs to be aware of. There is also no grab rail in the shower (accessed by stepping over the bath).

Excellent value, clean and tidy close to town centre / main roads.

The host, Karen was extremely helpful and accommodating since we were attending a family funeral in the area. The communication and entry instructions were good. There was a parking space outside but a car park very close where we could recharge our EV too. The accommodation was lovely and clean with nice comfy beds and a good range of kitchen facilities and equipment with washing pods for machine plus iron / board etc. Once nice aspect;, having a 4 point extension lead in each room for phone/tablet /hair straighteners etc and included a small amount of tea/coffee/ sugar sachets .Very close to town centre with easy access for main roads. Would recommend.

    Ideal for our needs

Close to shops, pubs & take always

The stairs, the hand rail needs to be extended to the very top of the stairs. Also it took us sometime to work out how to lock the front door when we got inside, we hadn’t seen a door handle like that (we’re Australian 😃)
