  Lovely place - needs better communication by letting agent

  Property wasn’t ready on arrival at 3pm and electrical problems caused by faulty microwave only resolved at 7pm.

  Property in bad repair. Front door jammed and locks broken. Agent to send a locksmith never arrived. Had to sleep with a chair up against front door else it blew open. Bad smell in bedrooms. Not enough plates and cutlery. Waited and hour after arranged time in street to get access. Managing agent ridiculously bad

  Great views, everything else terrible

  The views are incredible

  The agent and communication was worse than terrible. He was rude and accusatory. We got locked in to the apartment, (no key provided for the security trellidoor )and it took 3 hours to finally get us a key- we had to climb out a window to get to our tour on time. The apartment is in serious need of some attention, stains on carpets, peeling paint, old blinds left on the floor. The hot water ran out (only 3 of us taking a short shower). The kitchen has inadequate chipped crockery. There appears to be a new door replacing a broken window, however this is too high and very risky for a family with children- it should be a sealed window. The front door handle also was broken and we were very worried it would break off completely and we wouldn’t be able to open the front door. The worst was the agent.

  Das Penthouse begeistert mit seiner ausserordentlich schönen Lage und dem Blick auf Camps Bay.

  Alles hat bestens geklappt, und die Kommunikation war hilfreich und aktiv. Etwas unübersichtlich war der Kontakt mit drei verschiedenen Stellen vor der Wohnungsübernahme, da deren Zuständigkeiten nicht klar waren. Eine zentrale Kontaktperson oder eine klare Erklärung des Ablaufs in der Ausschreibung würde die Organisation erleichtern und gerade in Kapstadt zusätzliches Vertrauen schaffen.

  Die Wohnung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, und eine Erneuerung der Fensterfront wäre wünschenswert. Die wunderschöne Lage, der atemberaubende Ausblick und der Charme der Wohnung machen das jedoch mehr als wett.

  The good news first: the views from 1B Houghton Drive are absolutely amazing. The deck looks out over a stunning landscape, which was the ultimate redemption of our stay. The beds were also reasonably comfortable, and the bathroom, though old, was functional and decent.

  Unfortunately, the property itself leaves a lot to be desired. The apartment is highly aged with very dated furniture. The overall cleanliness was average at best. We noticed right away that the entrance to the apartment had not been cleaned before our arrival. Our biggest frustration was the cleaning fee vs. actual service. We were charged a cleaning fee, yet we had to explicitly request housekeeping. It only happened once during our entire 4-day stay. Why charge for a service you do not proactively provide? Furthermore, maintenance leaves a lot to be answered for: • Appliances: The appliances were falling apart. • The Deck: The deck has not been maintained or cared for at all. • No Checklists: There was no arrival or safety checklist provided. To make matters worse, management completely abandoned us. The facility manager simply stopped answering our messages on days 3 and 4.
