    Solides Hotel in einer wenig attraktiven Stadt

    Das Swiss-Belhotel ist das beste Hotel in Tarakan. Allerdings kann man keinen europäischen Standard erwarten. Westliche Touristen verirren sich kaum nach Tarakan. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr zentral. Das Personal war sehr bemüht und freundlich, hat versucht alles möglich zu machen. Unter anderem wurde uns ein privater Bootscharter vermittelt, der gut funktionierte.

    Die Straße ist laut und dreckig, wie überall in Tarakan. Der Pool war ebenfalls nicht sauber. Auch in den Zimmern durfte man nicht zu genau in die Ecken sehen. Außerdem roch es unangenehm. Im Hotelrestaurant gab es real nur eine sehr kleine Karte. Für die Kinder weder Saft, noch Sprite oder Fanta. Die Preise des Hotels liegen für den gebotenen Standard dort etwas zu hoch.

    Located good

    Very old hotel, they need renovation. Everything is really aged and old. Toilet is so old, that it is brown. Sheets had stains.AC is so old, that you cannot adjust the temperature.

    Great location and great food! Staff was exceptional.

    We had a junior suite and the layout of the Air conditioner was poor. It blew straight across the sitting area and did not cool the bed side of the room at all. Poor insulation from outside noises.

    Confortable for good rest.

    Clean, quiet, good place for rest after a long trip. This time the air conditioning was working well. Very good staff.

    The restaurant’s carte menu is incomplete; it presents many items which are not available, some of which are described as “typical Indonesian” and were attractive to have (as opposed to western meals eg pizza, burgers).
