Great location and staff, but poor room standards and slow check-out

The hotel staff were consistently friendly, and the location is fantastic, just an easy walk to Circular Quay and The Rocks. Hotel reception areas meaning we can check in late.

Check-out was slow, which caused us to miss our train. Additionally, Room 2512 was unacceptable. During the day, heavy service doors directly opposite the room constantly slammed shut, repeatedly vibrating the room and headboard. Housekeeping standards were poor: there was black mold sludge built up in the shower that wiped off easily by hand (I have a video of doing this) and the bathroom floor was noticeably dirty, with the floor towel becoming filthy. Despite paying for a "Premium" upgrade, the room was an outdated corner layout with mismatched dining chairs.

Thoroughly enjoyed our second visit and stay at Sydney Harbor Hotel and the Circular Quay/ROCS area.

We were on the 29th floor and our room had easy access to the elevators. Our room was beautifully laid out and appointed and had comfortable seating, a desk, great wall mounted television, an area for luggage, an ironing board and iron, hairdryer and a plug adaptor. The room included many amenities such as paper and pens, coffee & tea supplies and kettle and coffee maker, wine glasses, bottle opener, small empty fridge, a safe, and the bed and bedding was super comfortable. Room service requests were handled quickly, and our cleaning staff was efficient and thorough. Fresh bottled water and toiletry supplies were provided. We enjoyed the bars and food on the main level. There were cold water dispensers and a Mento bowl in reception. There was plenty of seating in the lobby area and taxi dropoff and pickup at the door. The Sydney Harbour Hotel is a close walk to everything in Circular Quay, with easy access to the cruise ship terminal, restaurants, bars and shops and the Hop On Hop Off Bus, ferries and trains. This is our second time at this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

There actually wasn't anything that we didn't like. The only thing that bothered us, is this hotel was so popular with large groups of visitors and business people that occasionally it was difficult to get a direct elevator to the lobby, or people were standing in clusters by the elevators in the lobby so it was a bit difficult to navigate the crowd. This isn't a complaint, but more of an observation.
