    Extremely disappointing – unacceptable room and unresolved billing issues

    The Location was perfect for attending an NHL Game at the stadium nearby.

    Unfortunately, our stay at Tampa Marriott Water Street was far below expectations. Despite paying USD 585.60 in advance through Booking.com, an additional USD 686.48 appeared on my credit card at check-in. Staff assured me this would be resolved, but the issue remained unresolved when I last checked. Even worse, our room was located directly above an extremely loud air-conditioning installation. Using the balcony was practically impossible, and the constant noise significantly disturbed my sleep, even with the balcony doors closed. We requested a different room but were told the hotel was fully booked. Remarkably, one hotel employee even acknowledged that, in his opinion, this particular room should no longer be rented to guests. To be fair, the hotel refunded our valet parking fees and some additional expenses, which we appreciated. However, the room conditions were unacceptable for a hotel in this price category, and the unresolved billing issue made the experience even more frustrating. We have contacted the hotel and Marriott Customer Care but have not received a satisfactory resolution. Very disappointing overall. We expected significantly better from Marriott.

    The common spaces (lobby, etc.) were lovely. The rooms were basic. For the money spent.

    View was crap. While we were close to other room, way at the end of the hallway. Bummed about that, is all.
