  Spacious, modern two bedroom apartment located in the heart of Funchal

  We stayed in the loft unit in this building, which is located just off a main street that leads down to the port. While the exterior preserves the historic facade, the interior has been completely redone and is very modern. This unit is on two levels. The main level is very spacious with a fully equipped kitchen including a range, conventional oven, microwave oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker and teapot. Plenty of cooking utensils and plates, cups, etc. are provided. There is also a large dining table, a sectional sofa facing a big screen TV, and a separate seating area next to the stairs with comfortable chairs and a low table. Also on this level is half-bath and a washing machine (and they provide laundry soap!). The unit is attractively furnished but not overdone—you don’t feel crowded by too much stuff. An air-conditioner is located over the entry door which could cool the entire downstairs. Two modest windows provide adequate natural light. Upstairs are two bedrooms. They are both large, one has a king bed and the other two twin beds. There are large closets in each room, along with a small desk and chair. Both have large en-suite baths with walk-in showers. Each bedroom has their own air conditioning unit with dedicated remote. Glass sliding doors in each open onto a common balcony overlooking the main thoroughfare. Chairs and small tables are provided if you want to sit outside. There are roll-down shades that provide very good light control for sleeping. Although some street noise could be heard, it didn’t interfere with sleeping. Fortunately, there was enough space to also set up a drying rack (provided in the unit) for drying our clothes. I really appreciated being able to do our laundry in the unit, hanging up the clothes on a rack outside on the balcony to dry overnight worked well. I immediately felt myself relax when I came into the unit. It was airy, comfortable but not fussy.

  The only downside is that you must climb up stairs to reach any of the units—none are on the ground floor and there is no elevator. Our loft unit was on the second floor (two floors up from the ground floor), and the bedrooms are one floor higher, so you will be climbing stairs frequently. The remote controls for the air conditioning units are mounted on the walls; in one bedroom it was behind the curtain and we didn’t find it until the second day of our stay.

  Excelente ubicación en Funchal

  Excelente ubicación, todo muy limpio. El apartamento está muy bien acondicionado y trato muy amable de Luis.

  Zdecydowanie polecam

  Świetne miejsce do komfortowego pobytu na Maderze na własnych zasadach. Apartament jest w doskonałej lokalizacji. Wokół sklepy, restauracje, komunikacja. Na wyposażeniu wszystko co potrzeba. Jak ktoś chce, może gotować. My szczególnie byliśmy zadowoleni z pralki: można zabrać mniej rzeczy - pierzesz wieczorem, rano są suche :). Przestronny salon i sypialnia. Komfortowa łazienka. Wygodne łóżka. Mieliśmy apartament na 3 piętrze, z tarasem z którego z jednej strony był widok na ocean, z drugiej na góry. Na przeciw jest niezamieszkały budynek, więc nikt nie zagląda ci do okien ;), jest względnie cicho jak na centralne położenie lokalu. Osoby z trudnościami w poruszaniu się mogą mieć problem z wejściem po wysokich schodach.
