A lovely location but not very cozy
On the plus side, our room was very comfortable, with a great bed, good pillows and luxuriant bedding. The view from the bedroom, out the front was lovely as we were high enough to see over all the bushes that had grown up in front of the hotel. The shower was great but the bathroom itself was quite tired. Downstairs though, was a huge disappointment. We turned up about 30 minutes before the appointed arrival time on a cold, wet day after a long drive. The front door was locked and when eventually someone answered the door, we were turned away quite curtly, as we were too early. When we did eventually check in, we found the downstairs was not furnished in a comfortable manner, the rooms were cold and despite the weather, there were no fires. One end of the hotel was curtained off, quite literally. The remaining lounge wasn't a room you wanted to relax in. There was no coziness about it. A real disappointment was that all the bushes over the road had been allowed to grow so high that they hid the lovely view from downstairs, whereas 100 metres up the road the bushes had been kept low. It was such a pity. A little bit of extra effort could have made for a much more welcoming experience. We didn't eat there but we went up to The Old Inn, about 2 miles away and it was excellent.
The welcoming!

Tout était parfait et surtout l'emplacement
Devoir payer 30£ pour mon chien qui pour ce prix là ne dispose même pas d'une gamelle ou d'une friandise et qui est interdit de restaurant.
