    Do not be deceived but pretty photos, unit is hot, could be dirty and hosts rude.

    The location of the property was very convenient and it was easy to get in the apartment though the host offered no specialized instructions for entering.

    The host of this property is not easy to communicate with. The sent me an email asking for my check in time. I did not receive a reply to my request to check in early and had to message them to get check in directions. The unit is lovely on the surface though it is in a very old building. The first thing we noticed was a cockroach in the shower and moldy smell in one of the bedrooms. Though the listing stated that the unit was air conditioned the living room and kitchen do not have AC only two inefficient fans. These rooms, the hallway and bathroom were like a steam bath. The portable AC units in the bedrooms are very noisy and were unable to completely cool these rooms off for sleeping. In the one bedroom the unit when on made the whole room smell moldy. We could not use them while sleeping because of the noise and the odor. A handle was hanging off broken in the bathroom but the final and worst problem was that when my daughter went to go to bed around ten should found her bed full of sand. Needless to say this is disgusting. When we contacted booking.com they were very understanding and offered us a way to register a complaint but the host of the property wanted to know if we wanted to pack up and leave that night at nearly 11 pm. They asked for photos which we promptly sent then said they did not receive. After going back and forth they said they would send a cleaning crew the next day. I asked what time and received no answer. While we were out at a farmer's market they asked for more photos though they had already offered to clean. We were angry about this and then they tried to make us leave without offering any discount or partial refund. We replied that we did not want to spend or two days in Kona looking for lodging and moving we simply wanted the unit cleaned. They finally agreed to clean the apartment and when we returned late in the day we noticed they had been there because the bathroom handle was fixed. Treatment was terrible.

    Beautiful, modern, well kept property.

    Wish there was AC in the living room. But it was fine, and was explained in the description. Would definitely stay again.
