I can't say enough good things about this rental. The location was great and in a quiet, residential neighborhood (this is exactly what we were looking for). There were lots of places to eat and shop that were close enough to walk to. We only used the car one day out of our 5 day trip and that was to drive to and from Six Flags. Anywhere that was too far to walk, we used Uber (prices were very reasonable). We were able to take an Uber to most places downtown for $20 to $25. The apartment itself was super clean and cozy. It was a great spot to relax in the evenings after a long day or being tourists. Parking on N. Sawyer Avenue was a breeze with ample parking spots right in front of the house. Parking permits were provided to cover all of the days we were in the rental. Jed's instructions for checking in and out were greatly detailed and easy to follow. Jed was a very responsive host and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. All of the neighbors we met on our walks were very friendly and kind. If you're looking to go out drinking, we discovered a great little local bar within a block and a half called Christina's Place (bartenders - Janet and Lauren were both amazing).

This is not really a negative, but more of a heads up for tall people. The bathroom ceiling height is a bit low if you're above average height. My significant other is 6'4" and his head rubbed against the ceiling. It was a perfect height for me since I'm short.

    A Cozy Retreat in Avondale

The check in and check out went incredibly smoothly and the location was very close to both the bus lines and Blue Line that we used to get around easily. Additionally the parking permits were a great touch to avoid the struggle of finding parking in Avondale. Also the location and the house itself were very quiet so there was no issue with grabbing sleep

Incredibly minor complaint, but the coffee machine was a little finicky. Took one or two tries to get a cup of coffee the first morning, though we had it figured out by the time we left. Also the bathroom is one of those classic Chicago attic bathrooms with a slanted roof. Not the biggest issue but required some slouching for the taller people in our party.
