    Ardara a great base and excellent for location, but location only! The property let it down!

    Location

    The property is an old farmhouse, so we fully expected it to be rustic and dated, and that in itself wouldn’t have bothered us. Unfortunately, the main issue was the standard of cleanliness. There was a strong smell of damp on arrival and we ended up having to clean the property ourselves before settling in. Plates and glasses were dirty with food, hand and lip marks still on them, the tablecloth was dirty and ripped, and there was even a piece of pepperoni left on a dining chair. Two pillowcases were stained (although the stains came out when we washed them), and while the bed linen otherwise seemed clean, we found dog hairs on the sheets. There were cobwebs and spiders in most corners, the windows were very dirty, mould at the back of the fridge, and strangely, a dog lead in the kitchen utensil drawer. The property would really benefit from a deep clean and some refurbishment. A number of items are very tired, including rusted lamps, the outside table and front door. It’s a lovely old farmhouse with potential and we didn’t expect luxury, but unfortunately the cleanliness really affected our stay. With a thorough clean and some TLC, it could be a much nicer experience.

    Nice cosy cottage, great location.

    Location is fantastic with parking outside. Cosy and compact.

    Slightly dated inside and an odd smell downstairs .. not unpleasant, but unusual. With a lick of paint and new flooring this place would be a 10/10. The tv is very small.

    Cosy wee Barn

    A cosy wee barn in an excellent location. The beds were very comfortable. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable & enjoyable. Would definitely book again.
