Well located in a beautiful village
Perfectly placed in the village of Hawkshead the Manor is just a short downhill walk to the centre where there are a lovely array of shops and eating/drinking places. The accommodation met our needs and was well equipped with everything you could need. The main rooms were cosy and the bedrooms spacious with the main bedroom having the longest curtains I have ever seen.The beds were very comfortable. There is ample parking for all guests. The Manor is also ideally placed for many local walks including a footpath to Coniston although in our short stay we did not take this. We did however venture to Esthwaite water which was stunning. Hawkshead is lovely village and we ate at the Red Lion (Lunch), the Queens Head and the Kings Arms (dinner). All meals were great particularly the Kings Arms. There are lots of crafty/ gallery/ outdoor kit type shops and cafes. We really enjoyed our short break and would definitely recommend a visit.

It is an excellent cottage in a great location.
Loved the location of the barn - beautifully quiet and yet not far from the village. The barn was well equipped. Beds were comfy and everything was very clean. views were perfect. It was just a great cottage that I hope to go back to in the future. Would definitely recommend.
The are no cons as far as I am concerned.

Gorgeous property and magical location
Stunning and quiet location close to the village. Large property, nicely decorated. Lack of clutter. Clean bathroom (and extra toilet) and kitchen. Good facilities. Good communication with hosts. Lovely bed linen. Nice flapjacks!
Only one thing: one of us was unable to sleep due to a newly installed fire alarm on the ceiling that flashed brightly. However, the hosts kindly put tape over it so all was well from then on.

Simply a memorable experience.
Fabulous location, very short walk into town, beautiful scenery, supremely comfortable lodgings and wonderful hosts in Sue and Richard. We cannot recommend highly enough .
