    pretty setting

    lodging feels like an after thought of the restaurant. proprietor stated that the water from the tap was not potable, provided one liter at the start of the 2- stay and another after prompting, then stated that we needed to buy water from their restaurant if we wanted to drink more. Fireplace was the source of heat, which is fine, but one firestarter and no kindling were provided, suggested that we go to the store if we needed, but again did later provide both after prompting. Tone abrupt and not at all welcoming.

    Got what we wanted

    The cottage was very well appointed, with great attention to detail throughout. The complimentary starter supplies of milk, coffee, tea, sugar, water and even a few biscuits were a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. The bed was really comfortable, with a high-quality mattress, excellent pillows and crisp, luxurious linen. We stayed during a cold weekend, and the supply of firewood and electric blankets made our stay even more enjoyable. The cottage was wonderfully quiet, and the farm-like setting created the feeling of being out in the countryside - despite being close to everything one would want to do in Montagu. We enjoyed our stay!

    We would appreciate better communication on servicing. We anticipated some level of servicing at this price point and were surprised to return to an unserviced unit after the morning out. This was minor and we still had an excellent experience.

    Lovely Upscale Cottage with Soace and Amenities

    Charming comfortable and quiet cottage with great aesthetics and nice space. We enjoyed the views, the complimentary bubbles on the porch, dinner by candlelight with a fire in the fireplace, and a comfortable night’s sleep upstairs. We only wish we saw more of the meerkats!
